Peace of mind and legal cover – sorted with your Local Electrician!
As a landlord, you’re legally responsible for keeping your property’s electrics safe. Here’s what you need to know – and how I can help.
✅ 1. You need an EICR every 5 years (Landlord Electrical Safety Compliance)
Legally required for all rented homes in England.
Must be done by a qualified, competent electrician.
You’ll get a report confirming the condition of your electrics.
I can carry this out and explain what it all means in plain English.
⚠️ Tip: Even if your last tenant didn’t report any problems, the EICR is still required by law.
✅ 2. You must act on any issues found
If your report shows C1 (dangerous), C2 (potentially dangerous) or FI (further investigation), you need to fix these within 28 days (or sooner if stated).
I can carry out all required remedial work and re-test if needed.
Once done, I’ll issue written confirmation for your records.

✅ 3. You must share the report
Give a copy of the EICR to your tenants within 28 days.
Keep one for your records.
Provide it to the council if asked (within 7 days).
Give a copy to new tenants before they move in.
✅ 4. You must use a qualified electrician
Always check your electrician is qualified and registered.
I’m fully qualified and happy to provide proof of competency.
All work is guaranteed and done to BS 7671 standards.
📎 Optional Extras I Can Help With:
Follow-up reminders when your next inspection is due.
Visual checks at tenancy changes.
PAT testing for landlord-supplied appliances.
Advice on energy-saving upgrades or safety improvements.
